What is RSV?

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is a common and highly contagious respiratory virus that infects the lungs and breathing passages. While RSV causes mild, cold-like symptoms in most healthy adults, it can cause severe respiratory infections, such as bronchiolitis and pneumonia in older adults, pregnant women, and individuals with underlying medical conditions.

At Livewell Clinic Pharmacy, we offer a convenient, private RSV Vaccination Service at our Soho, London clinic to help safeguard vulnerable groups and expectant mothers against severe illness.

Why Get Vaccinated Against RSV?

Vaccination is the most effective way to protect against serious complications, hospitalisation, and long-term illness caused by RSV:

  • Protect Older Adults: Reduces the risk of severe lower respiratory tract disease, pneumonia, and hospitalisation in adults aged 60 and over.

  • Maternal Protection for Newborns: Vaccinating during pregnancy passes protective antibodies to the baby, safeguarding them against RSV during their vulnerable first 6 months of life.

  • Prevent Complications in Risk Groups: Helps prevent severe flare-ups of chronic conditions like COPD, asthma, and heart failure triggered by RSV infection.

  • Flexible Private Access: Secure protection quickly without waiting for NHS queues or restricted eligibility windows.
